Yo-Kai Watch

Yo-Kai Watch is a huge anime and game series in Japan. The basic set up is that you play as either Nate or Katie, unwittingly unleashing a mysterious Yo-Kai butler on the world. The upshot is that you get a special watch that enables you to interact with other Yo-Kai. The Yo-Kai, for their part, are a real part of Japanese folklore that are a sort of mix between a spirit and a gremlin. From there on out the game is a mix between catch-’em-all gameplay and role-playing game elements familiar to fans of Pokemon. The game practically oozes charm and certainly has a lighter, more family-friendly tone than your average RPG.
